The conceptual and institutional instruments built to sustain an oppressive system cannot be used to fundamentally overturn that same system; at most they permit temporary, limited gains within its rules. Genuine change requires tools the system did not supply.
Human difference should be treated as a source of creative energy and interdependence rather than as something to be merely tolerated or forced into sameness. Flattening difference, or ranking it hierarchically, is itself a tool of domination.
Anger focused on injustice is a legitimate and informative response that, when expressed with precision rather than guilt or defensiveness, can be converted into clarifying energy and political action. Anger is distinguished from hatred, which seeks destruction; anger seeks change.
