  1. Goodness gets punished by scarcity

Where people are scrambling just to survive, kindness doesn't hold: good intentions lead you to the edge, and good deeds push you over it. A moral code that ignores how people make a living ends up hurting the very people who obey it.

  2. Moral rules ignoring economics fail

Authorities who preach virtue but refuse to touch money matters leave the good with nothing but advice. Declaring that business has nothing to do with an honest life, or that suffering makes people noble, is a way of dodging the real cause of the trouble.

  3. One-off charity cannot fix poverty

A single gift of money to one good person doesn't change the system that makes goodness ruinous. The help runs out, and the world that crushes the good is left exactly as it was.

  4. Change the world, not commandments

When people can't live by the rules, the honest question is whether the people, the world, or the rule-givers should change, or whether the rule-givers should go entirely. The way forward is to build a fairer world, not to keep defending outdated rules.
