Paired psyches as one mind split
Two people can function as complementary halves of a single psyche, where one carries aggression, instinct and survival while the other carries tenderness, memory and moral conscience. Separate them and each half decompensates: the fighter spirals into violent nihilism, the gentle one into helpless regression, because neither was ever a complete self alone.
