1. Coded speech as a parallel language

   Under assumed total audio surveillance, citizens develop 'koalang', a system of allusion, substitution and double meaning. Its purpose is to keep ordinary sentences from carrying their literal content to a listening machine. The language becomes a shared cultural skill and a marker of belonging. It also means censorship is permanently internalized, because every utterance is pre-edited for an imagined listener.

2. Points-based status as control architecture

   Citizens accumulate points for approved work and behavior. Their point totals determine housing, access, privileges and social rank, which turns class into a continuously recalculated score. Because standing can always be lost, people police their own conduct toward the regime's metrics. Class conflict breaks down into individual competition for points rather than collective grievance.
