Names that are also geographies
The protagonists' names double as landscape: 'Ada' means island, and 'Tuna' is the Turkish name for the Danube. The title can be read as a character pairing or as a map, a bounded island beside a river that crosses borders. The names ask the reader to see each person's identity through the kind of place they evoke, one contained and one moving and transnational.
