  1. Fear and ignorance breed religious prejudice

People come to fear and reject a religion mainly because they do not know it and have absorbed hostile images from events they cannot interpret. The remedy is explanation and knowledge, which dissolve the fear that violence and media coverage install.

  2. Islam means submission and peace

The word Islam derives from a root meaning both submission to God and peace, so the faith's own name frames it as an act of peaceful surrender rather than conquest. The believer's core posture is voluntary acceptance of divine will, not aggression toward others.

  3. Terrorism is a betrayal of Islam

Those who kill in the name of Islam violate its teachings, since the Quran forbids the murder of innocents and treats killing one person as killing all humanity. Extremism is therefore a political distortion that hijacks religious language, not an authentic expression of the faith.

  4. Judge a religion by its best not its abusers

A faith should be assessed by its foundational texts and the practice of ordinary believers rather than by the actions of those who exploit it for power. Confusing a religion with its most violent self-proclaimed adherents is the same error for any tradition.

  5. Historical Islam advanced science and tolerance

In periods such as Andalusian Spain, Muslim societies preserved and developed mathematics, medicine, and philosophy while allowing Jews and Christians to live and worship among them. This shows the tradition contains a documented history of intellectual achievement and coexistence, not only the conflict visible today.

  6. Explaining hard truths to children directly

Difficult and frightening subjects are best handled by answering a child's questions plainly, in dialogue, without condescension or evasion. Treating the young listener as capable of understanding complexity builds comprehension where silence would leave room for fear.
