Refusing to inform, then branded an informer
In 1979, while working as a translator at a Timișoara machine factory, Müller was summoned by a Securitate officer and pressed to spy on colleagues. She refused, saying she was not made for it. The service retaliated by spreading the rumor that she was an informer: colleagues shunned her, her office was taken, and she translated on the stairwell with her dictionary until she was dismissed.
