1. Carnival as the town's true face

   Read the carnival's masks, excess and inversion as a revelation of what the town suppresses the rest of the year, not as a break from normal life. The grotesque, bodily, festive register exposes the appetites and hierarchies that ordinary decorum hides. The ugliness of the celebration becomes a truthful portrait of the community.

2. Collective protagonist built around one place

   Instead of following a single hero, the narrative makes a shared space the center, and a large cast of marginal and respectable figures passes through it. Meaning comes from how their stories intersect at the brothel. The portrait of a whole society emerges from one building rather than from any one person's arc.
