Kakudmi's Brief Audience Costs Twenty-Seven Ages
King Kakudmi (Raivata) of Kushasthali takes his daughter Revati to Brahma's realm to ask which suitor on his shortlist she should marry, and waits politely while Brahma listens to a Gandharva musical performance. When he finally asks, Brahma laughs and tells him that twenty-seven cycles of the four yugas have passed on earth, so every suitor, their descendants and even their dynasties are gone. Brahma directs him to marry Revati to Balarama, Krishna's brother, in a world he no longer recognizes.
