The linguist discovers she is the saboteur
Rydra Wong learns Babel-17 by thinking in it and finds she can analyze combat and escape traps with superhuman speed. Sabotage keeps following her ship, and she eventually realizes that she herself, and the amnesiac criminal called the Butcher, have been carrying out an embedded program the language installed in its speakers without their knowledge. She stops it by teaching the Butcher the words 'I' and 'you' and adding them to the language, producing a revised tongue that keeps its power but loses its control over the speaker.
