2. A shared pseudonym, inside and outside

   The book mirrors its author in its hero. Within the story, Llob publishes Morituri under the pseudonym Yasmina Khadra and is still identified and punished for it. Outside the story, the author, a serving army officer, wrote this crime novel about the civil war under that same name, his wife's.
