  1. Internal arts converge on one principle

    Sun Lutang argues that xingyi, bagua and taiji are not rival systems. They are different doors into the same internal principle: unifying mind, qi and body so that force comes from the whole person rather than local muscular effort. Mastering the underlying principle in one art gives transferable understanding of the others, because the differences lie in outer shape, not in inner mechanism.

  2. Upright, relaxed posture sinking qi downward

    Sun prescribes keeping the body upright, with the shoulders relaxed and the waist sinking. Within this posture the qi is directed down to the dantian.
