Treating an alcoholic by solving a death
Duca Lamberti, a doctor just released from prison for euthanasia, is hired by the industrialist Auseri to stop his son Davide drinking a bottle of whisky a day. Duca learns that Davide's binge began after a young woman, Alberta Radelli, begged him to take her away with him, he let her go, and she was found dead soon afterward in what looked like suicide. Duca decides the only real treatment is to prove how she actually died, and he pursues her murder through Milan's organized prostitution trade.
