1. Alien occupation as displaced political critique

   Recasting a real national crisis as an alien occupation lets the writer name humiliations that direct realism could not safely or credibly name. Currency apartheid, the sale of bodies to foreigners, and desperate emigration become visible as a system once they are set on a whole planet. The science-fiction frame works as estrangement: the familiar becomes absurd, and the absurdity reveals the logic underneath.

2. Under occupation, hustling and leaving become agency

   In a colonized economy where legitimate paths are closed, the colonized express agency through the hustle, the negotiated compromise, and above all the attempt to leave. Emigration to other worlds, legal or clandestine, becomes the main form of hope, and success is judged by who got out. The rude, funny cunning of survival is presented as both a real dignity and a symptom of the system that makes it necessary.
