Sort every task along two axes — urgency and importance — producing four quadrants. Do important-and-urgent tasks immediately, schedule important-but-not-urgent ones, delegate urgent-but-unimportant ones, and delete tasks that are neither.
Map any decision or venture across internal Strengths and Weaknesses and external Opportunities and Threats. The internal/external split forces you to separate what you control from what you merely respond to, exposing blind spots before you commit.
Optimal engagement occurs only when the difficulty of a task matches your skill level: too much challenge produces anxiety, too little produces boredom. To stay in flow you must continuously raise the challenge as your competence grows.
